Rená and Nathan’s gorgeous wedding at the Tracy Inn was so gorgeous. I loved that Rená and Nathan chose to have their reception at the same place that Rená’s parents had theirs. All of the personal details they had throughout their beautiful Catholic wedding were perfect. I got a little teary eyed editing the image of Nathan’s grandpa helping him put on his cufflinks. So many amazing moments!

Rená and Nathan met through mutual friends. One of Rená’s college roommates was one of Nate’s best friends, so he was always around. But, Nathan was still too shy to approach her. He eventually messaged her on Facebook and they hit it off from there.

Rená knew Nathan was the one after seeing him interact with her family. He made her dad laugh (and still does!). So she knew right then and there it was meant to be. Nathan knew Rená was the one when he decided to take her home to Chicago to meet his parents. She was the first person that he brought home and they loved her. They saw something in her.

Nathan planned to propose before Christmas. He couldn’t get things coordinated with the ring in time so he decided on Valentine’s Day. She also wanted to pick out her own ring so he wanted to make sure he got what she wanted. I have to be honest and say Rená and I are very similar in this way. I TOTALLY picked out my own ring. They went to dinner on Valentine’s Day and exchanged gifts and then he proposed. It was quiet and intimate, just the way they both wanted. So sweet!

Their wedding ceremony was at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. The reception followed at the Tracy Inn. Rená wanted to honor her parents by having her reception at the same place they celebrated theirs. We even recreated the stairway image of her parents standing in that same exact spot!
