Brittany & Travis: Purple Orchid Wine Country Livermore, CA

September 27, 2017

I remember the first time I met Brittany, and hearing the love story between her and Travis. The way they had met in high school and coming back together in college, and now to a life together. She was absolutely the sweetest and a smile stretched across her face every time she talked about him. Travis was unable to attend our initial consultation because he was playing Monday night football, so when they later called and wanted to meet as a couple I couldn’t wait! The first time I met Travis I have to say I was a little nervous, it was the first time I had a groom wanting to meet me, but once we met it all made sense. Just like the bride, this was an important time and he didn’t want to just be a yes guy, but he wanted to be engaged in the experience with his soon to be. Over coffee we talked about God’s calling on our lives, future plans, and how we both could see a bigger calling in my life. I at the time was contemplating leaving a full time job to pursue photographer, and he was contemplating a leaving his lifelong dream to invest his time and energy in his community, in particular training youth. I remember thinking that God has placed me in the situation much more then just to be a photographer. We later had a impromptu double date and these two had a chance to meet my Craig. Seriously, no couple has met Craig, so to be able to sit, talk life and break bread together was amazing! Who knew that just a few short months later, we would both be walking in our purpose.

Brittany & Travis – The heart wants what the heart wants, I am sure we have all heard that saying, but it is all too true Brittany and Travis. These two love birds connected while in high school and their love grew stronger as Travis’s football career took him across the country. High school love can have it’s up’s and down’s, but there are those small few who come together in the end. With high school in the rear view mirror the road ahead looks bright for these two. Travis was a ball of nerves as he wrote his vows, and Brittany was full of life, as she and her bridesmaids did cheer stunts to pass the time before she got to meet her beau at the end of the aisle. It was an emotional first look between her and her father, as she looked absolutely stunning in her Flares Bridal gown. Travis’s step-mom placed his flower on his lapel moments before he took his place at the alter and I can say I was even in tears has he hugged her before taking his place next to his father who officiated the ceremony. This wedding was personal, every single touch had been thought through and inclusive of each others families. When you meet someone in your teens and grow together you just have a connection and bond that doesn’t come around every day. Brittany read the vows that Travis would later sing to her, not one knowing that the other had written, can we say connection! The toast were heartfelt as guest heard about the joy that Brittany brought her parents, and the love of her sister. Travis’s family brought the laughs describing Travis in his youth as a ball of energy, later a driven athlete, friend and confidant. It was in the quiet of their bridal portraits that I got a chance to see they way he so tenderly held her and the way she smiled and caressed him, so tenderly like a women who loved her husband should. With the nerves gone and rings on their finger, their love had taken on new heights of commitment, love, and if you were there for that cake cutting, utter joy. Wishing these two blessings!
