These single parents first met when Raquel was having her son baptized at church. A year later this thoughtful dad brought some dresses that no longer fit his daughters to Raquel for her daughters, and before long their kids started to play together. Like out of a movie, love blossomed, and before long these two fell in love. Kevin proposed to Raquel on Easter by hiding an engagement ring in an Easter egg. Of course she said yes and the rest is history. Now these two are getting married and their children will not just be friends, but be family too.

I couldn’t not share about my initial reaction to Kevin’s hands, and how they are weathered with his hard work. I was initially stuck by the beauty of them, a father, a man who works hard to take care of his family. Those hands not only work but show love in every interaction he has with his soon to be bride. I loved the way he held Raquel or brushed a wisp of hair from her face, and every time their eyes connected there was a laugh or a smile. I didn’t need to do much with these two, they naturally want to be close to one another, look and touch each other, and it made for a beautiful engagement session. The Sacramento Temple was a perfect location for their engagement session. It had lush greens, beautiful florals and magical fountains. I loved every minute of my time with these two, and here are a few of my favorite images from their session.
